Why are guys afraid of women with free spirits?

If you have any kind of intellect or a outgoing personality or presence guys seem to shy away when in all reality life and relationships would be much better if woman were less bossy, picky and more open to differences. what s so wrong with a girl like that i honestly think if i were a guy that would be my perfect on with great features of course.
