What are your thoughts on this statement?
To me this statement is another attempt to categorize ones self when no categorization will fit. There seems to be this endless pursuit to create a name and definition for how one thinks and experiences God so we can fit somewhere. It's useless. Gnostic comes form the word gnosis, meaning "knowledge". Those who have discovered the true Knowledge know what's up. It is no longer in the world of belief. Belief is for those who don't know but are placing a bet on a hunch. This is not a casino we live in, we don't want hunches, we want to know. The breath is our connection. As one great poet put it, "the breath is the wind that is pushing our boat across this ocean". The breath is not judging our actions, our beliefs, ideas or color, and it is hardly cut off from this world. Quite the opposite, when the breath leave us, we are the ones cut off from this world. As it's been said "the ability to think is God's gift to me. What I think about is my gift to myself". We are responsible for our actions, not God, but that doesn't preclude the amazing hand of grace and a whole lot of compion. Death camps were shut down, humans are working to fight schizophrenia and AIDS and will eventually win. We inherently don't want darkness and will rise up against it. Where do we think that comes from?
