Tomato Soup | Fastest good answer gets 10 points!!!?

I want to make some homemade tomato soup, and the reacipe calls for 1 (28-ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, pureed with their juice and i dont have that. So do you think a can of Stewed tomatoes could act as a substitute for it?
