When someone says Hi to me I either don't reply or speak in a very small voice and they can't hear me?!?

that happens to me too. its just because when youre walking around and not expecting to say anything if youre caught off guard your voice doesnt have time to warm up and it sounds weird. If your walking in the hall just try to expect that someone will say hi to you and you wont be caught off guard.
